Super Smash Bros. Melee Review

ClassicMetroid

The ultimate 4 player fighting game?

Graphics
An Amazing bunch of high polygon characters, incredibly detailed environments, unique looking items, some of the best graphics available for it's time. This game is honestly a Nintendo fan-boys biggest dream come to life. The animations are fluent, the character models just seem to come to life when you control them. This game is the definition of sleek and detailed. This game has amazing graphics all round.
Control
The controls are as tight as they will ever be. With just the flick of the control pad your character will move on a dime. Each button press and combo you perform will always react within a split second. The gamecube control seems perfectly fitted to play super smash bros Melee on, and players of any level will be able to jump right in and be able to fight in a matter of minutes. The controls are top notch and greatly improves upon the fairly good controls of the N64 predecessor.
Gameplay
A lengthy single player game, and an everlasting multiplayer game will keep you coming back for more. The simple yet addictive combos and attacks will more than satisfy any fighting game addict. Although this game is not the deepest fighter ever, it does what it does in style, and tries to take a different route when it comes to the gameplay. It is based in 2D side-scrolling type environments, and because of that, the control scheme works and just adds to the nostalgia factor the game is aiming to make.
Music
Every character in this game has multiple mixes of classic Nintendo theme songs, as well as original songs made just for this game. Each level has music based off of it's game series and incorporates sound effects from these games into it as well. The music all around sounds incredibly epic, and truly adds to this larger than life game. This game has such a masterful soundtrack thats so good its a safe bet that you will more than likely be humming some of these tunes even when your not playing it.
Fun Factor
There is so much fun to be had it's going to be hard to put it all into words. Everything from your first time playing through Adventure Mode and seeing so many classic Nintendo enemies, to the countless times something crazy will happen during a multiplayer match. This game has incredible legs, and around every corner is something fun and exciting to do.
Replay Value
Over 300 hundred trophies to collect, multiple types of single player games and events to play, training mode, home-run mode, break the targets, not to mention an amazingly deep and long lasting Multiplayer game with tons of unlockable characters and arenas to fight in. This game is so full of unlockables it seems almost impossible that this much game could have been stuffed into one disk. You will be playing this for the next 5-7 years, honestly. I have been playing it since day one, and still will be playing it until the next super smash bros. game comes around.
